Rihanna sues ex-owner over leakage in the house
Singer Rihanna has filed a lawsuit against the former owner of her mansion following water leakage in the house.
According to TMZ, the 23-year-old has filed a lawsuit at Los Angeles County Superior Court claiming that the woman knew about the problems in the building, including numerous waterproofing defects, evidence of water intrusion and construction issues.
In addition to the former owner, she is also suing the inspector, real estate agents involved with the sale and engineers involved with the house.
Rihanna claims that "the actual value of the property at the time of purchase, taking into consideration the extensive construction defects... was millions of dollars less" than the price she paid for it. She alleges said that the vendor she bought the house from deceived her by failing to make her aware of various major defects with the property including water leakage.
The singer had to spend a reported $6.9 million on the two-storey mansion in Beverly Hills that she purchased in 2009.
