Rihanna invites best friend Katy Perry to Barbados after Russell Brand split
Rihanna has invited her devastated best friend Katy Perry to stay with her in Barbados following her split from Russell Brand.
Heartbroken Katy, who is currently holidaying in Hawaii, called the 23-year-old We Found Love singer as soon as Russell revealed he was ending their relationship after 14 months of marriage on Friday.
A source told The Sun: 'Katy is hardly speaking to anyone right now, but she called Rihanna as soon as she heard Russell was filing for divorce.
'Katy was embarrassed about calling her parents as they'd been so against Russell in the first place, but Rihanna was a great support for her and she really helped to calm her down.
'When Katy told her the news, she suggested flying down to Barbados to stay with her and her family.' Russell, 36, is said to have filed for divorce over claims Katy, 27, was not ready for children.
An insider told the Daily Mirror: 'Katy is absolutely devastated, but the rows over starting a family had just come to a head. Yes she had agreed to take a year out to focus on children, but she realised the timing was all wrong.
'She is too young and does not want to put her music on the back burner while she is on top of her game.'
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the British comedian - who is said to be worth £11million - could be entitled to half of Katy's £28million fortune as the pair did not sign a pre-nup.
